Troop 1917 is looking for the next Scoutmaster

We’re searching for a great leader to step up to the plate for a two-year term. Ideally, our next Scoutmaster, like most Scoutmasters before him, is a dad excited to help his son and all the boys in Troop 1917 grow into young men of character. Here’s what it takes to be Scoutmaster in Troop 1917:

- Understand the Vision and support the Mission of Troop 1917 as set forth in the Troop’s Policies and Procedures: "Troop 17, a ministry of the Whitefish Church of the Nazarene, is dedicated to the spiritual, mental, social, and physical development of boys for the purpose of creating mighty men of character and service.”

- Familiarize yourself with the workings of the Boy Scouts of America

- Work with the Senior Patrol Leader to run weekly meetings and monthly campouts

The new Scoutmaster will have the support of our experienced assistant Scoutmasters, Mr. Ramlow, Mr. Scott, Mrs. Pellet, and Mr. Cuthbertson and current Scoutmaster, Mr. Thompson, who have served the Troop for years and can explain Troop traditions, answer questions, and offer whatever help is needed. In the past, the position has also been filled by a team of two Scoutmasters in a job sharing set-up.
