The Patrol Fund

The Patrol Fund A nonprofit organization providing avalanche education courses and financial assistance for avalanche and first aid courses for our community.

In 2010, a group of ski patrollers founded The Patrol Fund to provide educational opportunities and to promote avalanche and first aid awareness. The organization raises funds through the sale of ski patrol t-shirts, fundraising events, and tax-deductible donations. The Patrol Fund is operated on a volunteer basis by ski patrollers at Whitefish Mountain Resort. Every year, The Patrol Fund pays for

four Flathead Valley residents to attend either avalanche safety or wilderness first aid courses though our scholarship program. We also offered three Level 1 and one Level 2 Avalanche courses. We hope to expand these scholarship and avalanche class programs in the future.

The stoke is getting real over here at The Patrol Fund as we prep baskets for our Annual Fundraiser, coming up this Thursday (March 9th) at the Bierstube!!

REMINDER!!!

We have a couple openings for our Avalanche Level 2 Course on February 23rd-26th.

In order to attend our Level 2 Course, you are required to have:

Level I or Level I refresher in the last 5 years.
(Note: Level II may not be taken in the same season as the first-time completion of Level I);

Must be able to efficiently travel in the backcountry with up to 3000-4000 vertical feet of climbing using a splitboard or skis.

We have had some last minute cancellations for our Level 1 Avalanche Course this coming week Feb. 14th-16th on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. The course takes place at Whitefish Mountain Resort and the surround area from 8 am to 4:30 pm each day consisting of mornings in the classroom and afternoons in the field. Course cost is $249.99 including all service fees.
