Today on the IWD406 Podcast, I sit down with Montana wildlife artist Dale Marie Muller for a conversation about art, observation, curiosity—and following the things that continue to call us.

At 19, Dale packed a duffle bag, boarded a Greyhound bus in Philadelphia and headed west. A summer working in Yellowstone became the beginning of a life deeply connected to Montana, wildlife and art.

Today, her work begins long before pencil touches paper.

Dale spends time observing animals in the wild—their movement, anatomy, behavior, light and the subtle characteristics that make each one individual.

But we also talk about what happens behind the art: finding your own creative voice, building a career around your work, navigating the business side of being an artist and having the persistence to keep creating.

This is a conversation about more than wildlife art.

It’s about paying attention. Staying curious. Trusting what calls you. And having the courage to build a life around it.
