The Whitefish Bay Civic Foundation recently had the opportunity to join Ellenbecker Investment Group, Inc.'s Milwaukee's Philanthropic Community (MPC) podcast to discuss what it takes to build a stronger, more connected community.

The conversation highlighted how volunteer-led organizations help bring neighbors together through traditions like the Fourth of July Parade, Sounds of Summer, the Great Pumpkin Festival, and our neighborhood Ice Cream Socials.

These events are about more than creating memories, they foster connections, strengthen our sense of belonging, and make Whitefish Bay the special place we call home.

🌟 WFB 62K Participant Spotlight: Sarah Freeman 🌟

For most participants, the WFB 62K is a new challenge.

For Sarah Freeman, it's a tradition more than 15 years in the making.

In 2010, Sarah and her family adopted a rescue dog that needed plenty of exercise and patience. Looking for a new way to explore Whitefish Bay, she set out with a simple goal: walk every street in the Village.

She's been doing it ever since.

Sarah prints maps from the Village website and marks off each street and block as she completes them. It typically takes her 6–7 weeks to cover all of Whitefish Bay, logging between 60 and 80 miles along the way.

But for Sarah, it's never been about efficiency or counting miles.

Her walks are a chance to slow down and be present, no phone calls, no podcasts, just time to appreciate the beauty of Whitefish Bay in every season.

Sometimes she focuses on a particular detail during her walks: gardens and landscaping, unique doorways, or her unexpected favorite...rooflines.

Next week, Sarah expects to complete her 84th journey around Whitefish Bay.

Thank you, Sarah, for reminding us that the WFB 62K isn't just about reaching the finish line, it's about seeing our community in a whole new way.

The Whitefish Bay Civic Foundation is excited to partner with Three Lions Pub to bring one of Milwaukee's favorite World Cup traditions to Klode Park. Since 2014, Three Lions has hosted unforgettable World Cup celebrations, and this year, with Oakland Avenue under construction, the event is coming to Whitefish Bay.

Bring your lawn chairs and gather with friends, neighbors, and soccer fans from across the area to watch the world's biggest match on the giant screen.�

Our Fourth of July festivities are just around the corner! We are in need of volunteers to put on our kids games at Klode Park from 1-4 pm. We need approx. 68 volunteers (ages 12 and up) to help us run the games.

Driving down Lake Drive earlier this week, I spotted something that absolutely made my day - someone out walking in their WFB 62K t-shirt.

A few months ago, the WFB 62K was just an idea. Today, people all across Whitefish Bay are walking, running, and riding every street in the Village while helping raise money for new elementary school playgrounds.

A quick update: as of this morning, we have 53 registered participants!

The first order of WFB 62K shirts has arrived. All 68 of them.

And I have to admit, seeing them piled on the table made me smile.

A few months ago, the WFB 62K was just an idea. Today, people ranging in age from 8 to 71 have already committed to walking, running, or riding every street in Whitefish Bay this summer, all while helping raise money for new elementary school playgrounds.

That’s pretty cool.

The shirts are here. The challenge is underway. And we’re just getting started.

We're excited to revive one of Whitefish Bay's favorite traditions and invite 𝐤𝐢𝐝𝐬 𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝟏𝟐 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 to join the fun!

Decorate your bike, scooter, wagon, or tricycle in your best red, white, and blue and become part of the 4th of July Parade. Following the floats and the legendary Badger Band, our Bike Brigade will roll down the parade route showing off the most creative and patriotic rides in town.

🏆 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐞: A $500 gift certificate to Wheel & Sprocket in Fox Point!

We welcome the community to join us for Whitefish Bay’s Memorial Day Ceremony. The Veterans Monument and Memorial Garden at Armory Park honors the rich history of men and women who served and fought valiantly for our nation. Located on the original site of Whitefish Bay National Guard Armory, the monument is located at the southwest corner of Henry Clay Street and Ardmore Avenue.
