The Second Saturday of September is the date for the 20th Freshwater Folk Festival with a mighty fine lineup of activities at the White Sulphur Springs National Fish Hatchery in a beautiful location on East Main Street.

Extrapolation of the extended weather forecast reveals a good chance of a sunny day for the Saturday, June 6 Veterans Fishing Derby. Friends of the Hatchery will be there to tell folks about the organization and sell fish hatchery t-shirt, stickers, and stuffed toy rainbow trout.

Tonight is the night! Come out from 6-8 pm at the Hatchery to celebrate the winter solstice. Join us for walking along the luminary trail, warm up with yummy treats, and enjoy the company of the other revelers around the bonfire at the amphitheater. Don’t forget to check out the displays in the Visitors Center. T-shirts and hoodies with rainbow trout, crayfish, or freshwater mussel will be for sale.
