The Business of Engagement: Tools & Strategies for HR Leaders

Presenters: Dr. Brooke Moran & Paul Tame

One of the most powerful—but often underleveraged—drivers of engagement is employee purpose: the connection between personal meaning and organizational mission. Based on Path Collective’s original Purpose-Driven Employee Engagement Model, this session offers HR professionals a clear, structured framework to build and strengthen engagement through purpose. Using content from Path Collective’s workbook The Business of Purpose, this interactive session will guide participants through assessing current engagement levels, identifying key drivers of purpose, and developing actionable roadmaps to embed engagement strategies across teams and departments.

The Case for Purpose-Driven Engagement
Engaged employees aren’t just more productive—they’re healthier, safer, happier at work and at home, and more likely to stay loyal to their organizations. Studies show that organizations with highly engaged employees benefit from:
59% lower turnover rates
41% lower absenteeism
70% fewer safety incidents
10% higher customer satisfaction
20% higher sales productivity
21% higher profitability
Moreover, purpose is now recognized as one of the most powerful predictors of employee engagement, particularly among younger generations seeking meaningful work that aligns with their values. (Quantum Workplace, 2020)

Dr. Brooke Moran is a leadership development strategist and co-author of The Business of Purpose. She works at the intersection of organizational design, sustainability, and human potential, helping organizations cultivate thriving, resilient cultures.

Paul Tame is an executive coach and organizational consultant who helps businesses bring strategy to life through values-driven engagement and people-centered leadership development.
