Consistent with the APWU-USPS One-Time Retirement Incentive Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) dated Jan. 13, 2025 the second installment of the $15,000 will be paid on August 28, 2026.

Per the MOU, employees will be paid up to $5,000 in this installment based on their employee classification at the time of retirement. Full-Time career employees will receive the full $5,000. Employees who retired as a Part-Time Flexible or Part-Time Regular will receive a prorated amount based on the twenty-six full pay periods prior to the effective date of their retirement as follows:

Number of Paid Hours Percent and Amount of Payment

Under 520 Hours 25% $1,250.00
520 and under 1020 Hours 50% $2,500.00
1020 and under 1520 Hours 75% $3,750.00
1520 and over 100% $5,000.00

Paper Checks will be sent to the employee’s office of last appointment with the regular payroll checks for that office. Employees should arrange to pick up their checks at that office. If an employee previously completed a PS-Form 3077 Request to Forward Salary Check to a new or different address, the office of record should comply with that request.

Retirees who have issues receiving their check should first contact the APWU local or state organization that represented them at the time of retirement to assist obtaining their incentive check.
