Country Dancers of Westchester We feature live music and straightforward instruction by experienced teachers. Newcomers are offered their first dance at no charge.

Dances held most Thursday nights, some Saturdays, and some Sunday afternoons, September 'til May, at Church in the Highlands, 35 Bryant Avenue, White Plains, NY. Continuing the long tradition and current celebration of English Country Dance, a form of social folk dancing, we welcome folks with an interest in dancing - experienced and non-experienced alike of all ages - whether to join as an official member or simply to join us for an occasional evening's fun and activity.

ALWAYS IN OUR HEARTS: We are sad to report that our dear friend and fellow dancer Lee Goldberg passed away this week. He was a beloved member of Country Dancers of Westchester. He and his wife Arlene danced with us for years and volunteered to sustain our dancing at every opportunity. How lucky we were to have him in our lives! We send our most sincere condolences to Arlene and all his family.

TINY BUDS ARE COMING OUT, but what really marks the start of Spring is CDW's Celebration of Spring Ball! And it was quite wonderful, thanks to Orly's program marking the 100th anniversary of Fried's birth and Philippe's actual birthday (3/21!), and thanks as well to the mellifluous music of A Joyful Noise and the joyful participation of all the attendees!

LOVE’S TRIUMPH (Fried’s version) and chocolate were among the highlights of CDW’s Valentine’s Day celebration on 2/12. Twenty dancers came and were merry (Come, Let’s Be Merry), and we just loved the chocolate covered cheesecake at the break; it’s one of our obsessions :>). Following the break, we danced—what else?—Measured Obsession and the Chocolate Round O!

TRIPLE CROWNERS (those who attended the Lambertville, Philly, and Westchester dances) graced CDW with their presence at our Holiday Delight dance on December 7, the final stop for Bare Necessities' weekend extravaganza.
