WILC’s Minority Outreach Program works to ensure that Hispanic and African American persons with disabilities and their families have access to available resources and an equal opportunity to participate in all aspects of community life. It receives federal financial assistance from the Administration for Community Living (ACL), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and provides all services in a culturally appropriate manner.

SAVE THE DATE .... WILC's Family Empowerment Advocacy Series (FEAS) to begin on October 8, 2026!

Parents and family members, join us for this FREE in-depth series for families navigating special education.

The series has 2 goals: 1. strengthen participants' ability to advocate effectively for their own children; and, 2. prepare them to serve as informed, responsible resources for other families in their communities. Participants will build practical knowledge of special education processes, communication, meetings, evaluations, IEPs, rights, discipline, and referrals. The program will also emphasize the boundaries of the parent/lay advocate role, including when a family may need more specialized or legal support.

September 23 is International Day of Sign Language, a day to celebrate Deaf culture and the importance of sign language as a full and equal language.

WILC's Deaf Services connects individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing to advocacy, resources, and support, including access to sign language interpreters. Learn more (link in bio). 🤟
