子どもたちを支えたのは、在米リーダーたちや16歳の高校生であるCIT(Counselor-in-Training)の仲間たち。

Looking Back on Summer Camp 2026
This summer, a total of 258 children with Japanese roots or an interest in Japan spent time together, making memories and building friendships in the beautiful outdoors.
Supporting the campers were our U.S.-based leaders and our CITs (Counselors-in-Training), high school students aged 16. Once again this year, camp alumni who are now working professionals took time out of their busy schedules to return and help make camp a meaningful and memorable experience for the children.
This summer, we took a new step forward with the launch of NAKAMA Camp!
NAKAMA Camp was created in response to families who shared that their children were interested in Japanese culture but did not speak Japanese, or had no Japanese roots but wanted to learn more about Japan. To help these campers feel comfortable and included, we strengthened our English-language support so that children who do not speak Japanese could participate with confidence.
Throughout camp, the children had opportunities not only to experience Japanese language, culture, and customs, but also to discover the power of connection beyond words. Through shared activities, laughter, and helping one another, natural communication and friendships began to grow. This summer, six campers joined NAKAMA Camp and enjoyed a meaningful and enriching experience.
Since registration opened, we have received a growing number of inquiries about NAKAMA Camp. Many came from families whose children have Japanese roots but do not speak Japanese.
We are delighted that we could introduce this new option to families looking for a camp experience that meets their needs and give their children the opportunity to participate.
The success of our camp would not have been possible without the generous support of our campers’ families, alumni, and many others. We are sincerely grateful to everyone who contributed to making this summer special.
Preparations for Summer Camp 2027 are now underway!
We will share more details as soon as they are ready. We look forward to seeing you at camp again next summer!
