Attention All
I was informed that our APBS/SPBS machines will be removed. This will be done soon. Apbs #2 will be taken out in June, and apbs #1 will be removed in July. They will be replaced with an SIPS plus machine. I personally don't like this particular machine. But they say these never break down. The PM should be having a town hall to Inform you of these changes. Mail Handlers If you have any questions see me. I'll do my best to explain.

The cafeteria will be closed completely next Tuesday the 28th. There will be partial closings of the cafeteria for the next couple of weeks.

IT's been a while but here is what I've got. There was a nomination meeting on Monday April13. I was nominated for my current position of Branch President of Westchester. I was unopposed in nominations so I was duly elected for another term of your Branch President. We will keep going forward as best we can.
As you saw posted in the vestibule, we have the lowest employee availability in our district. This is not good. How can we fight for jobs when the people are not coming to work? it's a shame I have to keep saying this if you don’t want the job anymore then resign. it's better to resign than to be fired. A firing from the postal service looks bad on your record in the long run, you do not want to burn this bridge. you never know how things will work out. Please come to work!

On April 4 there was a branch union meeting. Attendance was poor. I posted the flyer on this page and it was visible on all union bulletin boards, and the door to the union office. No excuse for not knowing. In order for the union to work better for all, your participation is necessary. I will try to have another meeting prior to the end of the year. Please make it a point to attend.

Officially we are still in contract talks but we are also preparing to go to arbitration. With the postal service whining about losing money, because of mismanagement, we will most likely have a hard fight. We shall see what happens.

The fact that the PO is withholding their portion of FERS retirement payments is something that is not affecting us right now. No need to worry too much about something you can't do anything about. If we learn anything of more significance, I will let you know.

Bids were awarded this week. Congratulations to those successful bidders. remember you only have 9 times to become a successful bidder. know what your bid count is because you don't want to get blocked from that dream bid because you are over you count.

There is a lot of construction going on in the facility. The HVAC system is being overhauled so be away and stay safe. New water fountains are being installed and our new Bathroom project is on schedule, right now, to start sometime in June.

If you are a newly converted Mail Handler then ask your supervisor to put a request in for your clothing allowance. it seems that at least 1 supervisor on each tour knows how to do this.

If you have questions, come to the union office and ask. Ask for union time. you don't have to do it on your break.

Coming up is our yearly mail handler BBQ. All Members are welcomed with their friends and family. I love holding this BBQ because it gives us a chance to be social outside of the PO. Come eat some food, play some games or just chill in your chair. I always have a good time and so will you.

Until next time, In Solidarity,
Alberta

Our annual BBQ is coming up! See flyer Below.

Attention all!

Once again if you were kept from reporting to work Feb 22 and or Feb 23, 2026, because of the Snowstorm, please come and write your statement. There was a state of emergency declared, for NYS and Westchester County. There was a travel ban. Public transportation was suspended. Your mail was NOT delivered on Monday. Plows were not out due to the high winds. Plows came out after the snow stopped falling after 2pm on Monday Feb 23, 2026. There was 18+in of snow on the streets of Westchester. NY2 district suspended operations, but in NY3 they expected us to kill ourselves to report. Come write your statement.

Please see below the flyer for our union meeting. Open to all members.

Bids will be open Friday Feb 27, 2026. There are 9 bids. Hopefully you have all of your credentials in order. Good luck!

Attention All

If you were kept from reporting to work Sunday Jan 25 or Mon Jan 26, 2026, due to the snow storm, you should come to the union office to make a statement. If you called in sick you are not eligible. If it was your day off you are not eligible. If you cannot report to work due to weather conditions you should call in community disaster and request Administrative leave. They ask you to select another type of leave if your request is not approved. You can use AL or LWOP. Management has never just paid these snowstorm grievances without a grievance being filed. Your statements will help fight our case, that groups of employees were kept from reporting to work. If we are successful and you used your annual then you will get your annual back. If you used LWOP then you would get Administrative Leave for that day. Your participation is greatly needed and appreciated.

I was informed that there will be a "locker purge" on Monday January 26, 2026. I asked what "locker Purge" means. I have yet to get an answer. I assume that lockers will be checked.
I was told that management is looking for 8 missing Scanners that have been missing for over 90+ days and at least 1 of these has been missing for over a year. Crazy! Who waits over 3 months to start looking for non-returned scanners. Anyway, check your lockers for the missing scanners and also anything that may not be allowed here in the building. Move accordingly.

Every now and then I must mention this. Please keep your hands to yourself!!. You are NOT a PUNK! Keep walking! Ignore! You do not have to Say Anything. You control your own actions so be that person and walk away!

Come to work! If you do not want the job, then please Quit. You can call the union office or email me, and I will send you a resignation form. The actions will be coming fast and hard. If your attendance is bad then you will not be able to transfer. Bad attendance is the #1 cause for transfer denials, and they go back 3 years. Come to Work!

Vacations can and should be submitted now. Ask your supervisor for 1547 and select your vacation weeks. You must submit your selections in DUPLICATE. If you need help filling out your form, come and ask us. You have until the 3rd Saturday in February to submit your form

The next bidding Cycle will be February 27, 2026. Again, get those credentials in order now.

That's it for now.
