This Sunday is the BBQ at Secor Woods Park in Greenburgh NY. The BBQ starts when you get there. LOL! Anyway, food should be ready after 1pm. Bring your lawn chair and come have a good time.

We have our RI399 for the SIPS+ machine. Clerks Face the mail and the mail handlers do everything else. Mail handlers must be trained on the use of the IODP system for scanning and placarding as this is also a mail handler function. Do not ever say to management that "that's not my job". Every job is your job if they tell you to do it. As long as you will not be hurt you should comply. I am unsure of the exact staffing, meaning how many MH they will be using, but I keep repeating this, you must show them that help is required. With the new responsibility to scan and placard and the addition of all the extra bins, I'm sure we will need additional MHs for the operation.
From my last post and the town hall meeting, some information has changed. APBS #1 has no removal date yet. Right now, we have an APBS operation and a SIPS+ operation. For mail handlers these are combined as the work is the same. Bids will be posted as APBS and in the comments APBS/SIPS+. This keeps all the Mail Handlers in their positions for now until we see what's going to happen with the other APBS machine. I anticipate all bids will be changed once we know the status of the machines.

Come to work!!! I can't say this enough. Our bids are being reverted because they can show that the positions are not needed because the persons in those positions are never at work. This is true especially on tour 1. Please come and work safely!

The bathroom project is still on track to start August 1, 2026. The HVAC project is steadily progressing.

There are still Mets Tix for sale, Mets Redsox, Citi Field July 12, 2026. 1pm, subject to flex to night time. $50 per ticket.

Until next time,

I was informed that our APBS/SPBS machines will be removed. This will be done soon. Apbs #2 will be taken out in June, and apbs #1 will be removed in July. They will be replaced with an SIPS plus machine. I personally don't like this particular machine. But they say these never break down. The PM should be having a town hall to Inform you of these changes. Mail Handlers If you have any questions see me. I'll do my best to explain.

The cafeteria will be closed completely next Tuesday the 28th. There will be partial closings of the cafeteria for the next couple of weeks.

IT's been a while but here is what I've got. There was a nomination meeting on Monday April13. I was nominated for my current position of Branch President of Westchester. I was unopposed in nominations so I was duly elected for another term of your Branch President. We will keep going forward as best we can.
As you saw posted in the vestibule, we have the lowest employee availability in our district. This is not good. How can we fight for jobs when the people are not coming to work? it's a shame I have to keep saying this if you don’t want the job anymore then resign. it's better to resign than to be fired. A firing from the postal service looks bad on your record in the long run, you do not want to burn this bridge. you never know how things will work out. Please come to work!

On April 4 there was a branch union meeting. Attendance was poor. I posted the flyer on this page and it was visible on all union bulletin boards, and the door to the union office. No excuse for not knowing. In order for the union to work better for all, your participation is necessary. I will try to have another meeting prior to the end of the year. Please make it a point to attend.

Officially we are still in contract talks but we are also preparing to go to arbitration. With the postal service whining about losing money, because of mismanagement, we will most likely have a hard fight. We shall see what happens.

The fact that the PO is withholding their portion of FERS retirement payments is something that is not affecting us right now. No need to worry too much about something you can't do anything about. If we learn anything of more significance, I will let you know.

Bids were awarded this week. Congratulations to those successful bidders. remember you only have 9 times to become a successful bidder. know what your bid count is because you don't want to get blocked from that dream bid because you are over you count.

There is a lot of construction going on in the facility. The HVAC system is being overhauled so be away and stay safe. New water fountains are being installed and our new Bathroom project is on schedule, right now, to start sometime in June.

If you are a newly converted Mail Handler then ask your supervisor to put a request in for your clothing allowance. it seems that at least 1 supervisor on each tour knows how to do this.

If you have questions, come to the union office and ask. Ask for union time. you don't have to do it on your break.

Coming up is our yearly mail handler BBQ. All Members are welcomed with their friends and family. I love holding this BBQ because it gives us a chance to be social outside of the PO. Come eat some food, play some games or just chill in your chair. I always have a good time and so will you.

Until next time, In Solidarity,
