Today's Students Tomorrow's Teachers Westchester Region hosted its Career Development Workshops at Pace University, welcoming students from New Rochelle High School, Isaac Young Middle School, and Peekskill High School.

Students engaged in workshops led by Pace professors, explored topics like STEM and Why Become a Teacher. We were honored to have M&T Bank join us to present a financial literacy workshop, with a special focus on budgeting.

The day also included a campus tour and a meaningful Q&A where high school students shared advice with middle schoolers—all supported by our dedicated Teacher Mentors. &TBank

🌟 Inspiring the Next Generation of Women Leaders in STEM and Business! 🌟

On March 23, 2026, Mount Saint Mary College hosted the Hudson Valley Young Enterprising Women Mentoring Forum, bringing together nearly 130 high school students from eight schools across the region—from local Newburgh districts to Fallsburg, NY.
This powerful mentoring event provided high school girls with a passion for STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) the opportunity to connect with leading women entrepreneurs and professionals, gaining inspiration for ambitious dreams while learning practical steps toward achieving success as entrepreneurs and leaders.

The forum was a collaboration between Mount Saint Mary College and the Young Enterprising Women Foundation, whose mission is to educate and mentor young women while inspiring them to pursue careers in STEM and business. Throughout the day, students gained valuable financial literacy skills, professional guidance, and mentorship designed to equip the next generation of female leaders.

We are especially proud that Dr. Bettye Perkins, Founder and CEO of Today’s Students Tomorrow’s Teachers, served as one of the event facilitators, sharing her insight and passion for empowering young people to pursue educational and leadership pathways that transform communities.

Events like this remind us that when young women are given access to mentorship, opportunity, and knowledge, their potential is limitless. ✨

🎓✨ TSTT at the Grace Baptist Church Annual HBCU College Fair – Mount Vernon, NY! ✨🎓

What an incredible day at the Grace Baptist Church of Mount Vernon Annual HBCU College Fair! With hundreds of students and families in attendance and dozens of HBCUs and educational service organizations represented, the energy in the building was absolutely electric!

And let’s talk about that show-stopping performance from a local Mount Vernon youth marching band! These young people rivaled most HBCU Big Bands! 🥁🔥 The pride, precision, and power were unforgettable.

TSTT was proud to be present and actively engaging students about pathways into higher education and the teaching profession.

We were especially honored to have TSTT Alumni Valery Gabriel, Antionette Watkins, and Dr. Melissa White, Principal of The Pennington School in Mount Vernon, join us at the table.
Our alumni shared firsthand how the TSTT program was instrumental in shaping their journeys as educators and administrators, offering mentorship, financial support, and a strong foundation for leadership in education. Their testimonies inspired students to envision themselves not only as college graduates, but as future educators and changemakers.

Students and families also participated in powerful workshops on financial aid and the college admissions process, equipping them with practical tools for success.

As TSTT continues expanding our HBCU initiative — launched with our historic partnership MOU signed last month with South Carolina State University — we are excited about new partnership opportunities that will further strengthen the teacher pipeline and create even more pathways for our students.

The future is bright and TSTT is proud to help light the way. 🌟

So proud to join our Founder & CEO, Dr. Bettye H. Perkins, for a wonderful visit, lunch, and campus tour with Dr. Robert Gervasi, President of Mount Saint Mary College!

Last fall, Today’s Students, Tomorrow’s Teachers (TSTT) proudly signed a College Partnership MOU with Mount Saint Mary College, an important step in strengthening the teacher pipeline and preparing the next generation of educators.

This dynamic collaboration brings together MSMC’s School of Arts, Sciences, and Education and TSTT to create meaningful pathways for aspiring teachers to earn their degrees and enter impactful professional careers in education.

President Gervasi graciously hosted lunch in the beautiful student dining hall, intentionally inviting us to dine among students and experience campus life firsthand. With a wide variety of delicious food options and vibrant student energy, it was a powerful reminder of why college access and completion matter.

❤️ TSTT was honored to attend the Morgan Stanley Go Red Women’s Leadership Breakfast, Friday, February 6, 2026, an inspiring morning focused on women’s leadership, community impact, and the urgent importance of heart health awareness.
Our team was proud to join so many distinguished leaders in support of the Go Red movement, which reminds us that women must prioritize their wellness and take proactive steps toward heart-healthy living.

One of the most memorable highlights was hearing from extraordinary changemakers, including emerging racing phenom Dystany Spurlock, whose courage and groundbreaking path to be the first African American woman to race in NASCAR, continues to inspire the next generation. We were also moved by the powerful discussion featuring two-time Oscar winner Ruth Carter, whose story of excellence and perseverance as the first African- American woman to win an Oscar for Costume Design and who is up for another for Sinners, resonated deeply with all in attendance.

At TSTT, we believe that supporting future educators also means supporting healthy, thriving communities and that includes ensuring women have the knowledge and resources to protect their heart health.

🎉 HISTORIC MOMENT FOR TSTT! 🎉
Today’s Students Tomorrow’s Teachers (TSTT) is proud to announce a historic partnership with South Carolina State University, marking our first formal partnership with a Historically Black College and University (HBCU)!
This milestone collaboration strengthens our shared commitment to diversifying and expanding the nation’s teacher pipeline by creating a clear pathway from high school to college and into the teaching profession.
📍 During a special signing ceremony on the SC State campus in Orangeburg, SC, university leaders joined Dr. Bettye Perkins, Founder & CEO of TSTT, to sign a Memorandum of Understanding that will provide life-changing opportunities for future educators.
✨ Through this agreement, SC State will award up to five Presidential Scholarships annually for five years to qualified TSTT students through the prestigious Dr. Emily England Clyburn Honors College — covering full tuition, room & board, books, and mandatory fees.
Congressman James E. Clyburn joined the celebration, underscoring the national importance of investing in the next generation of diverse, high-quality teachers.
As Dr. Perkins shared:
💬 “This is laying the foundation for a bigger vision… where HBCUs across the country can strengthen teacher education programs and expand opportunity.”
Together, TSTT and South Carolina State University are making a bold investment in aspiring educators and strengthening classrooms and communities through mentorship and scholarship.

Today’s Students Tomorrow’s Teachers (TSTT) proudly hosted their annual highly successful Careers in Education Conference (CEC) at Manhattanville University on January 8, welcoming 150+ participants including high school juniors and seniors, college students, teachers, administrators, and education professionals from across the region.

Manhattan University, Seton Hall University, Sacred Heart University, Manhattanville University, Mount St. Mary College, St. Thomas Aquinas College, Fordham University, South Carolina State University, Touro College, and Mercy College

In 2025, we celebrated 30 years of building pathways for future educators, honored outstanding partners, and established new partnerships, as well as, supported hundreds of students on their journey to college and the classroom.

What an inspiring day in Albany! Thank you to for welcoming TSTT to the Members of Color Conference. Our workshop on growing the next generation of teachers of color was standing-room only—full of energy, ideas, and hope for the future of education. TSTT and NYSUT have a shared commitment to expanding educator pathways across NYS.

Our workshop sparked incredible dialogue and new opportunities to partner with districts across NYS. We are inspired to reconnect with TSTT Alum from Fallsburg HS/Mount Saint Rose/SUNY Albany Sherrod Williams, who now works with NYSUT and spoke about his experience with TSTT!
