C. Wesley Christman Archives, New York Annual Conference The Commission on Archives and History of the New York Annual Conference guides the activites of the Christman Archives.

The Christman Archives preserves and makes available the records of the New York Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church, including its agencies and local churches. In addition to organizing and preserving the offical records and rich history of the Conference, the Commission and the Archives help individuals and genealogists discover family history by locating ancestors’ church records

in response to inquiries and providing advice about other area resources relating to Methodist history. Assistance is also provided to local UMC churches that are organizing and preserving their church records. The Commission on Archives and History is made up of volunteers who come from congregations throughout the New York Annual Conference region; these individuals serve multi-year terms on the Commission on Archives and History, attend Commission meetings every other month, and often serve as historians in their own churches and communities.
