Last week, APF scholarship recipients Athena and Stephanie presented their summer research project to board members and staff. They used scientific data to compare access and opportunity to mental health resources across gender, ethnic and socioeconomic spectrums.

The results are clear – early mental health interventions help prevent su***de and support positive and successful life trajectories.

We're excited to welcome Jessica Marquez Melgar to Access Psychology Foundation as one of our 2026 Postdoctoral Fellows!

Jessica is a clinician and doctoral candidate in Clinical Psychology at Azusa Pacific University. She is passionate about advancing mental health equity through culturally responsive, trauma-informed care and advocacy for historically underserved communities. During her fellowship, Jessica is expanding her clinical expertise while helping advance APF's mission to improve access to high-quality, evidence-based mental health care for all.
