Treats 4 Paws

Treats 4 Paws Annual October event-collecting monetary & physical "treats" for our local animal rescues...because it takes a village!

The Backstory: My only child/son was a Scout and was always spearheading donation drives for animals, etc. My son passed away in 2019 and this is just my way of carrying on the work that he was so very passionate about. It’s October & it’s time for my 2nd Annual Reverse Trick-or-Treat for our local shelter & animal rescue groups! During the entire month of October, I will be accepting monetary “t

reats” (donations) via the event GoFundMe and physical “treats” (donations) at 104 Larkspur in White Oak. I collect the donations and early in November, I distribute everything to the groups I am helping. Last year your donations were able to help the Longview Animal Shelter, an independent foster, 5 local rescues and we raised $500. This year we are helping the animal shelter, 7 rescues, and hope to raise $700!

Hope you're having a great day! Here's some updates for today:

Don't Forget...Treats 4 Paws is in need of paper boxes with lids! I use these to organize and deliver donations. You can drop them off on my porch at 104 Larkspur in White Oak. TIA!

Good Morning All, it's September 1st and that means...IT'S TIME! It's finally time to start posting details for the 2026 Treats 4 Paws October month-long pet donation drive. This is my love project that I started 5 years ago as a way to honor my son's memory, Skyler Eddington, and carry on his desire to help the animals of East Texas.

If you're new here, I AM NOT a non-profit and I know that turns a lot of people off on donating but I have built a very good reputation within the rescue community and every single donation goes to the recipients. GoFundMe does take out fees because I'm not a non-profit but the remaining funds all get divided between the recipients also.

NOTES TO GET STARTED:

1. I'm in desperate need of paper boxes with lids! I use these to organize and deliver donations to the rescues.

2. My house is the OG drop-off location and address is on the flyer.

3. The only other additional drop-off location this year will be my good friends at Longview Symphony Orchestra.

4. I will post the Amazon Wishlist link and the GoFundMe link at the end of September.

5. T4P runs from Oct 1-31 ONLY! PLS do not try to drop-off off any donations until Oct 1. There will be a donation station set up at the end of my driveway and it's open 24/7 during Oct. I just ask that you are always mindful of the weather as I work outside the home and would hate for rain/weather to ruin your donations.

Thanks so much. Please msg me if you have any questions. HERE WE GO!...

Thank you sooo much to all my current followers! If you can, please share this page as we are gearing up for our 5th year! Also, if you've never donated, I'd really appreciate it if you could support me this year! I started this event to honor my son's memory and the story is posted on the page.

Treats 4 Paws is NOT A NON-PROFIT and there is a reason for this...I would not be able to help some of the recipients/individuals if I were and I try to help so many, year after year. Every single item and monetary donation go straight to each year's announced recipients...I KEEP NOTHING!

I hope you will support the 2026 event!

Tuesday morning I will be posting the 2026 Treats 4 Paws recipient list and this year's wants/needs list. GoFundMe and Amazon Wishlist links will be posted at the end of September. The event runs Oct 1-31 only and everything gets distributed to all recipients by mid-Nov. I hope you will support this 5th year!

Sept 1st begins the push for the 5th Annual Treats 4 Paws October month-long pet donation drive. I have mixed emotions about this year:

1. 5 years in and still barely over 1000 followers across all social media.
2. Out of all my followers, I think it is still only the same 50ish ppl that donate every year AND I'M SO THANKFUL FOR EACH OF YOU!
3. 5 years in and still can't get the news media, paper or tv, to mention my event.
4. I had such high hopes of being able to get a storage building, I even tried selling shirts, so I could:
A. Get everything out of the 3 rooms it
takes up in my house
B. Be able to accept more donations
Unfortunately, this still hasn't become a reality.
5. I've tried making donation drop-off
locations more accessible to the public and in 2025 they were - we had about 6 or 7 locations. This year, I only have 1 location, other than my house.

I'm not sure what this year has in store but please know that I'm forever grateful to those who have supported this event for the last 5 years. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!
