On June 7, the feast of Corpus Christi, the St Patrick Knights of Columbus Council #13319 took an active role in the procession of the Eucharist from the church to the Meditation Gardens. This procession gives public witness to our faith that the Eucharist is the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Our Brother Knights, including the Fourth Degree, helped lead the procession and many others also took part in this event. This is a great example that Council #13319 demonstrates Faith in Action.

All parishioners are warmly invited to take part in our Corpus Chiristi Procession. We will process with the Blessed Sacrament from the church to the St. Patrick Prayer Garden. All are welcome to join in this beautiful expression of our devotion. Hope to see you there!

On May 31st, the St Patrick Knights of Columbus Council #13319 provided a brunch after the 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. masses to celebrate all the mothers of the parish. We acknowledge the treasures that our mothers are in our lives. We appreciate them for who they are and what they mean to us. This brunch was just one small way for us to show our appreciation.

We pray that God watches over our mothers and continues to bless them all.

In early May, the St. Patrick Knights of Columbus Council #13319 sponsored a retreat for the men of St. Patrick Parish at St. Paul of the Cross Retreat Center in Detroit. The theme of the retreat was “Navigating Turbulent Waters” (and how the Holy Spirit is always next to you in order to support you no matter what is going on). Men from five different parishes were in attendance. Pictured are the men from St Patrick in White Lake.

This retreat is always beneficial to those that attend as evidenced by the number of people attending this year that have also attended in the past. It is great to be able to get away from all the noise of daily life and spend time on quiet prayer and reflection.

At its May 6th general membership meeting, St Patrick Knights of Columbus Council #13319 welcomed a new Knight to our ranks. Greg Bagby had previously completed his online Third Degree exemplification on April 30th and at the meeting was presented a rosary and was introduced to our Brother Knights.

We are excited to have Greg as part of our Council!

Kris Gibson has been named the St. Patrick White Lake Council 13319 Knight of the Month for April. In addition to his long-time position as Treasurer of our Council, Kris is active at various Council events and has been intimately involved in developing another fund raiser to help support the many charities that our Council supports.

For the fourth year, the St Patrick Knights of Columbus Council #13319 provided shoes to children in need at Dublin Elementary. We presented 28 pairs of shoes at a cost of over $1,000. The cost of the shoes was covered by donations from our Brother Knights.

Each year the students receiving the shoes are extremely grateful and excited as they will no longer need to wear old shoes that are worn out or are a hand-me-down of the wrong size. The students receiving the shoes showed their appreciation by sending our Council a thank you card that they created. It was a heart-warming event for all those that were there.
