At METAL TREATING INSTITUTE's May 5th Midwest Region Dinner Meeting, heat treating companies from across the region gathered to discuss the major forces shaping the road to 2030 — and what companies must do NOW to stay competitive.

The conversation focused on four accelerating trends impacting every heat treating company:

• Labor shortages and the shrinking skilled workforce
• Demographic shifts changing economic patterns and workforce expectations

The key question throughout the evening was simple:

Members explored five critical questions every leadership team should be asking themselves to make sure they have an actionable strategy to address each one.

Last week, the Metal Treating Institute leadership team participated in the AMEC Committee meeting in Ohio—where critical aerospace specifications like AMS 2750, 2759 and other processing standards are discussed, debated, and advanced.
