Great update from Acero Kiger Mustang:

Yeah, it has finally happened! The revised breeding program for Kiger Mustangs has been published. The KHAR has now been designated as the keeper of the original studbook for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland! The current breeding program can be viewed at www.ponyhannover.de under "Satzung_Zuchtprogramm." It is also available on the website of the Bavarian Breeding Association for Small Horses and Specialized Breeds.

Cuervo, a young Kiger, had another field trip in March. It’s great to see the awesome Kiger temperament shining through in new settings.

Here’s what Christa had to say about the outing: “I’m sure thankful for Barb and Laura’s willingness to share their incredible arena at Ridgeview Stables😊. As far as i know this was Cuervo’s first time in an indoor and although he was a little wide-eyed at first he figured things out quickly and behaved like a perfect gentleman. I think he kinda enjoyed it. He even figured out how to climb stairs!”

Another great exposure opportunity for the Kiger breed. ✨Freija and Ronja were demo participants for Mary Wanless. Here’s what Minna has to say about the outing:
“Freija and Ronja were a demo pair at the clinic.

For Freija, the large exhibition hall and busy event environment were new. At first, she paused to take everything in with some caution, but after a very short moment she decided there was nothing to worry about. Freija was even invited into the arena as a “buddy horse” for another demo horse who couldn’t cope being alone in the large show arena. There, Freija stood dozing in the corner, helping to ground the other horse so it could perform.

We received a lot of praise and admiration for the Kiger’s wise nature and behavior.

Mary Wanless is truly at the top of her field, and the clinic was extremely rewarding.”

Winter fun update from Big Sky Kiger’s stallion “Garcia.” It was his first time tubing/skijoring and took to it like a champ. He’s very sure footed and his smooth gaits make him a top pick for trying new things. His gregarious nature also makes him fun for the whole family to play with. Erika is excited about summer plans with Kigers and prepping them to showcase their skills.

Helena Lidén and friends created a fun outing, in January 2024 and 2025, involving a large group of Kigers in Sweden. The winter weather was so nice, they wanted to take advantage of it, so went for a walk in the forest.

Helena recently shared:
We went for a walk with our co-riders 🥰
We probably broke the record for the number of people and Kiger mustangs (one part bred)out together at the same time in the forest.
9 kigers & 9 people 🙌
We were supposed to be 12 people & 11 horses.

Fun training update from Minna in Finland and her growing Kiger herd. She now owns Frejes Brielle the Dancing Queen, QLK Bella Nobleza, and registration pending Grey Wolf of North. Here’s what Minna has to say:

Winter training with our young Kigers here in Finland ❄️🐎

Brielle, a 6-year-old sporty mare, loves speed and forward movement. Training in the snow is excellent conditioning and a fun change of pace 🥰

With Grey Wolf, 4 years old, we are practicing the basics of dressage and show jumping. He is a quick and eager learner 😍

We have just started groundwork training with Nobleza, our recently settled 3-year-old. A balanced and curious mare, she quickly understood the idea of lunging and clearly enjoyed moving ❄️🐎❤️

Jessica and friends are out for a nice winter ride without the snow. It’s very much a surprise to be snowless right now in their Swedish section of the world. Jessica is riding branded mare Diamond and leading Donna. Elvira is riding Zenith and 10 year old Oline is riding Cobriza.

Cold weather is setting in! Christa Miremadi and her kiger gelding, Smoke, check on the cows. Seems like everyone is trying to take advantage of the last bit of riding weather before winter really sets in making it harder to get that horse time in.
