Sorry for the late post... long day. The Joe Wilson Sausage Feed was a huge success! Special thanks to all the volunteers that make this happen. Its a great event that gives back to WhiteBird. I want to thank the lovely ladies in the kitchen...Velma, Brandi, Darla and Beth...everything went off without a hitch. Super Pros. Shout out to the Legionaires who cooked sausage patties like a mother. I think the bell of the the ball was the 4H kids...they did a spectacular job of clearing tables, getting drink orders, clean up and providing the vibe. And the Old time fidders are always a hoot. I would be remiss if I didnt mention Danielle Lindsey. She is the heart and soul of this event and if my counter is correct this is her 12th event that she has organized. Through the years she has managed to streamline the event, make it profitable so that the non profits in town benefit and keeps the spirit of Joe's vision alive. The Legion sponsors this event financially...but Danielle makes it work. A well deserved and long awaited thank you to her. We all served 183 eaters, including 17 Veterans and our awesome group from the New Plymouth Senior Center that somehow makes all of our events including the Seafood Boil ( when highway 95 isn't closed over the 4th for the last 2 years from mudslides). Thanks again to everyone who supports this event.
