October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and the purple ribbon is the symbol of support for survivors. JWF-NJ Grants Co-chairs and Director were proud to present a check for $25,000 to the leadership of the Essex County Family Justice Center (FJC) in support of a program offering case management services with a special focus on strangulation survivors. As the sign on the door reads, FJC professionals offer "Safety, Support, Dignity, and Hope" to women at risk.

With a $25K grant from JWF-NJ, the advocates affiliated with CASA of Essex County will receive specialized training to benefit teen girls. It is Yom HaZikaron in Israel -- a Memorial Day dedicated to fallen soldiers. פורום דבורה Forum Dvorah has created a website to honor female soldiers who lost their lives on October 7th and in the ensuing months. Below is the story of a heroine, Mor Shakuri, who sought to protect the city of Sderot. May her memory be blessed. https://www.womenwarriors.co.il/en/heroines/advanced-staff-sergeant-major-mor-shakuri/?fbclid=IwY2xjawJ-HKNleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBicmlkETEwY1MwVHVKb1YwczVORmpmAR5p5_smmp8YBtyNjJ_VGcSK4M8HbSFnyUR6CgeW7HpCWKCIONtbrOyiLnyVHA_aem_vI2qOFxT9cOv6kBWN-RqYw
