Construction needs you ladies!!!

West Virginia has more skilled trades jobs open right now than workers to fill them.

Electricians. HVAC techs. Pipefitters. Carpenters. Good-paying jobs with benefits and a real future. Employers are hiring. They can't find enough people.

WV Women Work's Step Up for Women Construction Pre-Apprenticeship is a free 12-week program that gives folks the training, certifications, and connections to step into those jobs.

No experience needed. Two locations this fall, Dunbar and Fairmont.

Classes start August 31, 2026.

Women in Construction would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the Regional Economic Development Partnership (RED) for their support of our scholarship fundraising efforts and, more importantly, for their continued investment in the future of our region.

RED works tirelessly behind the scenes to strengthen our communities, support local businesses, attract new opportunities, and create an environment where people and families can thrive. Their commitment to economic growth and community development helps make the Ohio Valley a place where future generations can build successful careers and meaningful lives.

During our recent scholarship fundraiser at the Wheeling Nailers game, we were honored to welcome RED's Director to our table. He took the time to introduce his daughters and share an encouraging message about pursuing opportunities and believing that they can achieve anything they set their minds to. Moments like these remind us why our mission matters and why strong community partnerships are so important.

We are especially grateful to RED for providing us the opportunity to host our fundraiser and for their generous sponsorship in support of our scholarship program. Their investment will help us continue encouraging and supporting women as they pursue careers in the union construction industry.

Your generosity provided an incredible foundation for our scholarship fund and will help create opportunities for future generations of women pursuing careers in construction and related fields.

Our upcoming 6-week bootcamp in Dunbar, WV is designed to help individuals quickly gain the skills and certifications needed to enter the workforce.

• OSHA 10
• First Aid/CPR
• Forklift Certification
• Hands-on trade exposure
• Essential job skills training
