Catholic Charities West Virginia Working to reduce poverty in West Virginia We provide caring and compassionate social services to reduce poverty in West Virginia.

We feed the hungry, care for the elderly, nurture children and strengthen families. West Virginians can always rely on us to lend a helping hand, regardless of faith, family or background. Our mission is grounded in Catholic Social Teaching; our programs are administered by professional staff and supported by volunteers. Through our service delivery and collaboration with parishes and the larger community, and in accordance with our core values, Catholic Charities West Virginia touches the lives of those we serve and those who join us in serving.

Small choices can add up to something big! In October, purchase a $2.50 reusable Fight Hunger bag at the Kroger Columbus location at 200 Mount de Chantal Road in Wheeling, and $1 will go to Catholic Charities Neighborhood Center while helping reduce plastic waste. One simple purchase with double benefits.

Walking through the doors of the Webster County CCWVA office and not seeing Edna Larmore is taking some getting used to. Edna has served as a volunteer since about 2000, when it was Catholic Community Services. This year Edna began having some health issues that has made it impossible to climb the steps to get in the building. She is in physical therapy, determined to return and all of us hopes she can. The office has decided to have her a suprise appreciation party to encourage her to keep working. The party will be held at 146 McGraw Ave. in Webster Springs on October 29th. She leaves physical therapy at 2:00 so the party will be shortly after that. If you have ever had the pleasure of meeting Edna, you will certainly remember her! Please join us in wishing one of our longest time volunteers, recovery to return to work!

Catholic Charities West Virginia invites our Wheeling-area neighbors to sign up for this year's children's Christmas gift program!

Sign-ups will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays now through October 26 at the Wheeling Outreach Office (2000 Main Street, Suite 233, Wheeling).

The office will be open for sign-ups from 9:30am-11:30am and 1:30pm-3:00pm. No appointment is needed. Bring a birth certificate or proof of guardianship for each child you are registering for gifts.

Catholic Charities West Virginia's New Martinsville Outreach Office invites area neighbors to sign up for Esther Crumbley and Secret Santa programs now through October 13.

Sign-ups are available in Klug Hall (21 Rosary Road, New Martinsville) during regular food pantry hours (9am-1pm) on October 5, 6, 12 and 13.

What to bring:
🎁 Identification
🎁 Another proof of address, such as a utility bill in your name
🎁 For Secret Santa, bring a birth certificate or social security card for each child. (These are for verification only and will not be copied.)
