Day 2 of our FC Wheeling Friendlies is underway. We have 22 girls' teams here today for some pre season action.

We are primarily at Highlands Sports Complex today on the indoor and outdoor turf fields, along with Wheeling Park. Let's go!

We are up and running with day 1 of our FC Wheeling Friendlies at Wheeling Park. We have 55 teams here this weekend to get some good pre season games in! Today, it's the boys' turn.

Thank you to Wheeling Park Soccer for use of the turf facility across the street and our partner clubs for coming to Wheeling: MUSC, FCP, Belmont Soar, F3 Academy, Wolfpack, and PKSA.

It was a great night for some pre-season soccer action earlier today as the WP girls scrimmaged the CC girls.

Good soccer, good weather, good crowd, and good referees ✅️

Kudos to the two coaches - and both schools - for making this happen just like the boys' scrimmage this past Saturday.

It was nice to see so many current and former FCW players on the field today - and coaches too!

WHEELING ELKS SHOOTOUT INFORMATION

The Wheeling Elks Soccer Shoot Contest will be held Sat, October 3rd, 2026, starting at 10:00 a.m. at the Sonneborn Complex - Field # 4 at the top of Wheeling Park. Registration will open at 9:00 a.m. and the contest will start at approximately 10:00 a.m. Pre-Registration is not necessary and there is NO entry fee.

There are five (5) age groups: Under 8; Under 10; Under 12; Under 14; and Under 16. The Soccer Shoot is open to both boys and girls, who will shoot separately. Eligibility for each age group is determined by the participant’s age as of January 1, 2026.

Contestants in the Under 8 Group will compete in a Five Goal Contest that consists of a series of five goals, decreasing in width from 48 inches to 17 inches. Contestants in the other age groups will compete in a Grid Goal Contest that consists of a full-size goal sectioned off so points can be scored when the ball is kicked into certain sections. The top three finishers in each age group will receive an award. The 1st place finisher in each age group is eligible to advance to the State Soccer Shoot.

Thank you so much to Bob Stoltz, local owner operator of the tri-state area McDonald's, for the generous donation of balls as part of the FIFA World Cup celebration!

We will put them to good use this fall season!

Yesterday, we were able to donate some soccer balls over to our friends with the Wheeling Area Soccer Association - WASA ! We're so grateful to be able to connect with our community and celebrate FIFA in this special way! ⚽❤️
