Yesterday, WCWA members removed flood debris and litter from a stretch of Wheeling Creek in Elm Grove.
Volunteers put in WORK. A lot of heavy lifting, sweat, steps, and care for the community goes into a cleanup event. Thank you to the volunteers for your time and effort to help restore Wheeling Creek!
And a HUGE thank you to our partnerships that made this event possible:
The Ohio County Solid Waste Authority provided cleanup supplies to keep volunteers safe and efficient. OCSWA also provided an on-site dumpster and handled disposal of all debris and litter.
The Onion Bag Litter Prevention Project showed up with cleanup materials, muscle, and motivation for this event. This project does much more than supply onion bags!
And thanks to Wesbanco for allowing us to use space in their parking lot to provide this community service!
If you are interested in future opportunities to volunteer or collaborate in any way, our next WCWA meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 26th @ 6pm in the basement of the Ohio County Public Library.
