Another great Friday cookout with our friends from Walmart. This time we need to give a huge shout out to the Moundsville Walmart. The moment they heard we needed a grill they graciously gave us one so we could take our cookouts at nature day camp next level and give the campers some delicious food. I think the Schrader staff is just as excited as the kids! Thank you Moundsville Walmart!! 🙏🏻

Summer of Wonder is in full swing at Schrader! We had a packed house today for sand art with our wonderful Miss Courtney. Since the air quality ruined our pool day plans, we made the most out of our Friday. It’s safe to say the kids loved our afternoon trivia. It ended in a 4 way tie and they all got prizes!

How cute are these ceramic pieces we just pulled out of our kiln today?! If you didn’t know, we just got a bunch of new designs in so grab your bestie or the whole family and come paint with us! Pottery closes at 3 daily, we do walk ins, and once your piece is fired, you can pick it up the following day.

One of the things that has looked a little different for us this year at our nature day camps is the Friday cookouts. We are so beyond grateful for Triadelphia Walmart. They have gone above and beyond to not only provide our Friday cookout food but to help serve and cook it too. Not to mention the outdoor games, first aid items, and more that they have graciously donated to us this summer. Sir Hoppington made an appearance to help defeat the bad guy at our wizards and wand week as well. The kids have been asking for him to come back already. For smaller local places like this, these acts of kindness mean the world to not only the people who work here but the community that surrounds us too. We’ve been able to provide new menu items for the kids to help keep it fun and exciting. And of course we will forever be grateful for the popsicles and ice maker on these hot days to help keep us cool. From the whole crew at Schrader, To Kim, Xavier, Vanessa, Shelly, and the whole team at Triadelphia Walmart, thank you for all that you have and continue to provide throughout this summer. Grateful is an understatement.

From searching for buried treasure, learning how bees pollinate, shelter building, seeing baby turtles, to some campers catching their first fish… What a magical first week of summer camp. My, how we missed it. ☀️

Due to the unfortunate power outage that is effecting the area near Oglebay, we have to cancel today’s butterfly event. Please keep your eye out because we will be having many incredible butterfly programs throughout the summer. 🦋
