📍 EAST WHEELING FORUM: MEET & GREET — Saturday, October 17
Historic Laughlin Memorial Chapel
Two sessions: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM | 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM
We rescheduled, and we're back on. Saturday, October 17th at Laughlin Chapel.
This is the first of our quarterly forums. The point is simple: sit down together, hear what this neighborhood actually needs, and figure out how we deliver on it. Not just talk about it — deliver on it.
Here's who's coming to the table:
Tessa Weisenborn — the new Executive Director of Laughlin Chapel, on stepping into the role, what the chapel is running programming-wise, and where she sees it going as a steward of this community.
Councilwoman Connie Cain — Connie has been a community partner with us from the beginning, and she's been in East Wheeling's corner long before that. She'll share what she can on new development in the neighborhood and where things stand with the new community center.
Eric Heinowitz — owner of Elvn Build, with the Market Miners Group.
Vincent DeGeorge — owner of the American Legion, also with Market Miners Group.
We're asking them the questions this neighborhood wants answered. What's being built. What drew them to East Wheeling. And what community actually means to them.
East Wheeling has real history here. What we're building on top of it is up to us.
Rebuilding a community is a tall task for anybody. So let's be intentional about it, believe it's possible, and do the work.
Two sessions, so come to whichever fits your day. Bring a neighbor.
