Grief is not something you "get over" or "move on" from. It's something you learn to carry.
One of the things I often tell those I work with is that grief is not about "getting over" a loss or "moving on" from it. Instead, it is about learning how to “move forward” while carrying that grief with you.
Many people expect grief to follow a straight path, but the reality is much different. Grief can be unpredictable. Some days you may feel strong and hopeful, while other days a song, smell, memory, or date on the calendar can bring a wave of emotions you weren't expecting.
A few important things to remember:
✨ There is no timeline for grief.
✨ Grief looks different for everyone.
✨ Joy and grief can exist at the same time.
✨ Healing does not mean forgetting.
✨ You do not have to "move on" to move forward.
✨ It is okay to ask for support.
Whether you are grieving the loss of a loved one, a relationship, a dream, or a life change, your feelings are valid. Grief is a reflection of love, connection, and the significance of what was lost.
At EP7, we believe no one should have to walk through grief alone. Through support, education, and connection, we can help one another find hope while honoring those we love and miss.
