Chicago western suburbs. Carriers of Light is a full-time school that provides a holistic educational experience with the Prophetic Guidance and Quranic text as the nucleus of the students’ learning. Using elements of the traditional Quran school and western educational philosophy and research, we aim to increase the students’ love, knowledge, and practice of the Glorious Quran. We focus on modeli

ng this transformative experience to our students so that they are able to acknowledge its awesome capacity in their life. The study of the Quran, its proper pronunciation, tajweed, and memorization is the focus of this program. In addition, Islamic themes are integrated into all aspects of the curriculum. Prophetic manners and tarbiya are emphasized as part of the school’s culture. Mathematics and language arts meet state and national standards and are taught in small groups to allow focused and differentiated learning. Our teachers share their knowledge in creative and passionate ways with their students. Strengths of the COL Quran Teaching Method
1- Low students/teacher ratio.
2- Positive Environment (encouraging and loving)
3- Emphasis on correct pronunciation and reading of the Quran.
4- Gradually leading students to develop the Tajweed skills.
5- Aiming for strong memorization by providing system for attaching and testing the new memorization.
6- Providing the opportunity for students to Review and test their old memorization.
7- Assisting in building one’s relationship with the Quran by incorporating Ayahs reflections and Quranic Vocabulary in Quran Curriculum.
8- Providing the experience of the Quranic friends spirit through the group memorization method.

A to one of our students’ favorite year end traditions.

This year, we chose not to hold our annual water fight out of respect for the tragedy affecting the San Diego Muslim community, standing in solidarity with our fellow Islamic school, masjid, and organization, and honoring the martyrs through du’a and reflection.

Instead, our students came together for a collective Qur’an khatm, heartfelt du’a, and meaningful conversations. What made us proudest was that every student was so understanding and did not complain. MashaAllah

May Allah grant the martyrs the highest levels of Jannah, bring healing to all those affected, and protect the children all over the world. Ameen. 🤲
