Faith and disability is an exciting intersection and there is a national conversation taking place online in the form of a free webinar this Wednesday from 1-2pm Central Time. Come join the conversation or forward the link to anyone you know who is interested either in the spiritual lives of people with disabilities and their families and/or congregational inclusion and helping faith communities become more accessible and hospitable for people impacted by disability.

Do you live in Tennessee and know of any faith-based disability-related program anywhere in the country that you'd like to learn more about? If so, there may be a pot of money available to help you go do just that and also help you bring that model back to TN. If are a family member of an individual with a developmental disability or an individual with a DD and live in TN, then check out the new Community Development Grant program from the TN Council on Developmental Disabilities. http://tn.gov/cdd/grantprogram.shtml

Tennessee Council on Developmental Disabilities page with information about grants, our education fund and travel fund. The Council is a systems change organization created by the federal Developmental Disabilities Act.

Check out this short video of Helen Keller! In just under 3 minutes it shows how she learned to speak and you actually get to hear her talk. Quite moving and amazing to think how much goes on inside people that others a "blind" to when we don't open our hearts to "see" with the "eyes" of love.
My favorite Hellen Keller quote: "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart."
Because faith unveils the eyes and unlocks the heart...Faith must be for ALL.
