Too often, stalking survivors are questioned about their choices, with responders focusing on if the survivor properly discouraged the unwanted attention rather than putting the blame where it belongs: on the stalker.

Today, we to raise awareness about the deadly intersection of intimate partner violence and gun violence and to stand with victims and survivors everywhere.

We know survivor safety must remain at the center of these conversations. When an abusive partner has access to a firearm, the risk of homicide increases by 500%, making firearm accountability a critical component of domestic violence prevention and survivor safety.

In 2025, the Children's Advocacy Project provided 286 forensic interviews to child victims of abuse in our state and the surrounding areas.

Of those 286 interviews, 166 were conducted in Natrona county.
Of those 286 cases, 179 children experienced sexual abuse.
Of those 286 children, at least 269 children were abused by someone they know.

Knowing the numbers and knowing the facts about child abuse in our community can help to prevent it.
