Boy Scout Troop 157

After the tornado that impacted our community, volunteers were asked to come help with clean-up; volunteers had to be 18 to assist with cleanup, so the Scouts had to find another way to give back. Our troop did what Scouts do best: we got creative and found a way to help. Our troop prepared and served food to the hardworking crews who were clearing debris and helping our community recover. While they may not have been old enough to run chainsaws or haul debris, they were absolutely able to live out the Scout Law especially the part that says “a Scout is helpful”. We’re proud of these kids for stepping up, looking for a need, and meeting it with cheerful service. Recovery takes a whole community, and even the smallest acts of kindness can make a big difference.

Ed Myers was not only a friend but a mentor for myself and many in Boy Scouts and OA for many years. It’s a great loss to our Fellowship to hear of his passing. You will be missed by many my friend and Brother. We will continue from here. - Matt Kristoff: Scoutmaster Troop 157

Monday 2/19, we received a $1,000 check to renovate the cabin we use on the Legion property. Thank you to the Auxiliary post for the donation and Donna and Erica for presenting us the check. We are very grateful for your donation. Xander - Webmaster

On Sunday 12/10 we held our latest Court of Honor. We had an amazing speech from our SPL Wyatt, shout out to him for planning the event. Kolton and myself earned Tenderfoot rank, and all scouts earned merit badges. We had a great dinner and fun time conversing and playing Apples to Apples. The troop held Court of Honor last night. Congratulations to all who advanced in rank. Spencer earned his Tenderfoot rank; Wyatt, Caleb, Lucas, and Max all earned their Life rank. Hooray to your work and dedication to get this far. Everyone enjoyed playing games after the ceremony, thank you to the sisters and everyone who came to Court of Honor. Xander - Webmaster
