Wheat Ridge Feed the Future Backpack Program This program provides supplemental food for children in need at participating schools in Wheat Ridge during the school year.

Experience shows that children who aren’t hungry have improved grades and increased attendance. Backpack programs across the country help this happen by providing extra food so children won’t be hungry over the weekend and will be ready for school on Monday. We provide supplemental food for children who are in need at participating schools in Wheat Ridge during the school year. Each Friday, childr

en take home a sack filled with food, including: breakfast, lunch, and snack items, along with fruit and vegetables to see them through the week-end when the safety net of the Free and Reduced Lunch program is not available. To be a part of this program, parents may register their children at any time during the school year.
