🌷 Happy Mother’s Day! 🌷

A huge shout-out to all the amazing moms everywhere!

Thank you for the love, guidance, and hard work you put into raising such wonderful kids. Your support, encouragement, and sacrifices help shape the men and women who grow up to serve their communities.

Without all that you do, we wouldn’t have the dedicated volunteers who answer the call to help others.

From all of us at What Cheer Fire & Rescue, thank you to every mother for everything you do each and every day.

🚨 WHAT CHEER SPRING CLEAN UP 🚨

It’s that time, folks… time to dust off the porch and clean things up! 🧹

City-Wide Spring Clean Up is Saturday, May 16th (7:30 AM – 10:30 AM).

The What Cheer Fire Department is reaching out to our in-town residents — if you or someone you know needs a hand, we’ve got you covered.

👉 Do you have:
• Grandparents or elderly family in town that need help?
• An injury keeping you from lifting or hauling?
• A broken-down truck or no way to get items to City Hall?

We will have trucks and trailers available to help pick up and haul your items for you.

✅ All we ask:
• Have your Spring Clean Up letter ready
• Have tire tickets if you’re getting rid of tires

This is what small-town community is all about — neighbors helping neighbors. 🇺🇸

If you or someone you know needs help, reach out to any member of the department, message the page, or contact:

📞 Gavin Bird – 641-660-2420
📞 Quintin McAdams – 641-660-7631

Let’s clean up What Cheer together! 💪🔥

🚨 Flea Market Week is Here! 🚨

Everyone knows what that means—What Cheer will be busy all week long! With extra traffic coming through town, places like Casey’s and Dollar General will be much busier than normal. The fairgrounds will be packed, garage sales will be happening everywhere, and there will be lots of vehicles and pedestrians moving around town.

Please help keep everyone safe by slowing down, staying alert, and taking your time. Expect people to brake suddenly or make quick turns as they spot sales or parking spots. Also, be sure to watch for and obey all No Parking signs posted around town so traffic can keep moving safely.

And one more reminder from your local fire department: our trucks are big and loud, but that doesn’t make it easy to get through traffic when things are crowded. If you see us coming with lights and sirens, please slow down safely and pull over so we can get where we’re needed.

Have a fun Flea Market Week, support the community, and stay safe! 🚒
