The Wharton Rotary Club was established in 1946. Our club meets every Wednesday at 12:00 noon in the O’Quinn Room of the Wharton Civic Center located at 1924 N. Fulton St., Wharton, TX 77488 (please click here for directions). About Rotary International

One of the international missions of Rotary is to eradicate polio, an effort started in 1988 with the World Health Organization, when 1,000 children were infected every day in 125 countries, to less than 1,400 cases reported last year, in 4 countries. But if we don’t eradicate the disease now, the risk of crippling and deadly polio outbreaks will continue to threaten the world’s children. Learn about the challenges to polio eradication and the current strategies that Rotary and its polio eradication partners are using. You can help Rotary get the job done by contributing to Rotary’s PolioPlus program or volunteering and creating awareness of polio.

It’s a new month and another opportunity for Wharton Rotary Club and HEB to partner for the Community Kindness Award. October’s recipient(s) are all the wonderful SHARE volunteers led by President Jan Stokes. These men and women all
show up to tirelessly and willingly work several days a week and sometimes in between those days to stock the food pantry, fill the racks with gently used clothing, display books, household items and supplies, decorative items - items that have been donated to SHARE to pass onto families and food pantry supplies to provide food on tables. We thank these volunteers for their service behind the scenes to our community. They share their time, talent, big hearts and bright smiles with many families. WATCH FOR THE VIDEO to be posted soon!

What a night at the Wharton Rotary Gala! 🤍✨ We had such a wonderful time celebrating 35 years of service, fellowship, and community involvement! A huge thank you to our sponsors, guests, volunteers, and everyone who helped make this night so special. We are so grateful for the continued support of our community and can’t wait for another year of serving Wharton! 💙

We are ready for the 35th Annual Wharton Rotary Gala tonight! After a lot of hard work and preparation, everything is coming together, and we are looking forward to a wonderful evening of fellowship, fun, and supporting our community. Here’s just a glimpse of some of the amazing auction items waiting for our guests tonight! A huge thank you to everyone who donated items to our auction and to every business, organization, and individual who sponsored our Gala. Your generosity and support are what make an event like this possible and allow the Rotary Club of Wharton to continue giving back to our community.

Erin Eaton from UT MD Anderson Cord Blood Bank gave us great knowledge last Wednesday at our regular Rotary meeting. Giving your new born child’s umbilical cord to the Cord Blood Bank is allowing them to help people all over the world! Give her a call and have her visit your organization or talk to you individually. Great strides in medicine are coming!

Wharton Rotary was proud to once again support WCJC’s Wharton campus by helping stock the Homestead pantry as students begin a new school year. Thanks to a Thrivent Action Team grant and the support of Wharton Rotary, the shelves are filling up with meals and snacks to help make sure students have what they need. This is what Service Above Self looks like , seeing a need, showing up, and making a difference. We’re not just serving today; we’re investing in our students and building up our community for tomorrow.

The Rotary Club of Wharton was proud to attend the Tri-Club Meeting with our fellow Rotarians from El Campo and Palacios. We had a wonderful time connecting, sharing ideas, strengthening friendships, and enjoying fellowship with District Governor Camille Prentice Hamilton. One thing is for sure ,El Campo definitely knows how to have a good time! We enjoyed a great evening at Rickhouse Distillery while continuing to build the relationships that make Rotary so special.

It was also exciting to witness the El Campo Rotary Club welcome a new member into the Rotary family. Three clubs. One Rotary family. One mission ,Service Above Self. Together, we Unite for Good and continue Creating Lasting Impact in our communities.

Our own Dick Hudgins spoke at Wharton Rotary today about the new “goings on” at the Houston Live Stock Show and Rodeo! In case you do not know, Dick is a lifetime member of the HLSR. He has held many positions of leadership over the years. He showed us a video of things to come in the next few years. The Rodeo has property a few miles from NRG and they are planning on expanding their use of that property and build it up to make it useable year around! In case your group wants to. know about Houston Live Stock Show and Rodeo, just give him a call. He is a great speaker! Thanks Dick for all your love of Wharton and the HLSR!
