Amazing!!

Shellfishing Opened in Expanded Area on the South River - The Division of Marine Fisheries approved the addition of 18+ acres of recreational shellfishing in the South River. Shellfishing opened on Saturday April 4. See expanded yellow area in map. Thanks to Mike Dimeo, Marshfield Harbormaster and Shellfish Warden for supporting the testing and pushing DMF to get this additional area open! And kudos to all of the members of the NSRWA whose decades of advocating for cleaning up wastewater and stormwater pollution sources to our rivers have led to water that is clean enough to eat from. This is what community coming together to restore our resources looks like!

Data Centers are Extremely Dangerous to the Environment!! They do not belong on the Docks of Everett!!!

From Mystic River Watershed Association:

Earlier this month, MyRWA joined Everett residents in cautioning against the development of a data center in the Everett Docklands Innovation District. You can read our full letter on our website >>> https://mysticriver.org/news/2026/3/26/myrwa-raises-concerns-over-proposed-everett-data-center

Data centers have proven negative environmental impacts on surrounding communities, and Everett Residents already face disproportionate environmental impacts, ranging from financial burdens, poor air quality, and lack of access to green and open spaces.

We are asking that the city either prohibit this land use or place a temporary moratorium on its construction.

We submitted the attached letter to the Everett Planning Board on March 2nd.

On March 2nd, 2026 we submitted a letter raising concerns about a proposed data center in the Everett Docklands Innovation District

What is an Estuary? The Weymouth Fore River, Weymouth Back River and the Weir River are Estuaries!!

Watershed Wednesday: What is an estuary? It’s where salt water from the ocean and fresh water from a river meet. The water that’s not entirely salty and not entirely fresh is described as “brackish.” Damon’s Point in Marshfield is a great place to observe the North River estuary. It’s located at the end of Damon’s Point Road. Parking is limited, but you only need a sticker from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day. Photo by Tom McManus.

Explore South Shore: Plymouth's Black Cat Preserve is a hidden gem! This 63-acre woodland in the Town Brook watershed offers pond views and 2.5 miles of often-challenging trails, plus two reclaimed cranberry bogs now returning to their natural state. In addition, there is fishing access for Briggs Reservoir. Limited on-site parking lot for 6-8 vehicles. Please note that many online maps locate this property at 80 Black Cat Road. However the parking area is closer to 178 Black Cat Road, across the street.
