It's that time again. Our Annual meeting. March 12, 1926 6:00 p.m. Weyauwega City Hall.
At this meeting we will elect officers
Discuss Pros and Cons of forming a Lake district
We will report on the Waupaca County Lakes Consortium meeting and next steps.

On October 9 at the lake meeting we laid out our vision for a sustainable management plan for Weyauwega Lake. State Senator Rachael Cabral-Guevara sent her representative Sydney Faestel. She has pledged to help us host face to face discussions with principal government bodies having lakes under their jurisdictions. This will facilitate unified consent concerning the management and health of the lakes. It will allow the county to go to the state with one voice. She also pledge to help bring together the lake associations within Waupaca County as a buying group for equipment necessary to maintain the lakes. We could then spread the expense of w**d harvesters and w**d cutters across a number of Lake associations rather than having each one purchase their own .
We thank Senator “Rachael” for her help.

In the coming months we will need your help and support. Think about fundraising possibilities. Let your friends know we are working hard. Anyone interested in joining with us is most welcome, we need you.

Great news! The fish survey is complete and the DNR will be at the July 10th meeting 5:00 at the community center to answer questions about our fish population.

Old Business
Sampling sediment Progress report Jim T. As far as we can tell everything looks good. We are waiting on approval from the DNR Question: How long do core sediment samples assessments last?
Fundraising/Grants Jim T. As a first step We will explore a grant from the DNR for Dredging and Grading Project Permitting, Waterway protection Fee $900. This covers Kayak and Boat launches. It pays 50% of the cost to dredge, harvest w**ds to the river channel. There are two other grant possibilities: GLSNRP - Great Lakes Commission on Sediment and Nutrient Reduction. And Sustain Our Great Lakes Program NFWF - Habitat Restoration.
Meeting with GEI: Dredging company must be certified by the DNR. Kyle Bretl send us an outline as to the funding and grants we might want to pursue.
New Business Bob V. will attend City Park meetings to bring the City into the discussions about the lake. It might also be valuable to attend the White Lake Association. We have swans on the lake. At a meeting with the city, they made it clear they do not want any of the dredged material on City property. We will need to further address the city as to how they want these materials handled.

Next meeting April 10th at 5:00 We are moving fast. Fish report is in but you have to wait for the first day of fishing before you catch any.

Exciting news. Today we found out that we can accomplish the Sediment samples this month! That means we will be ready to dredge early next year, funds permitting. That's where our donors come in. We're working hard to raise the funds we need. The assessment for the core samples will run as little as 6K or as much as 13K. To all of you, thank you for caring about our lake.
