Seed funded a vaccine for DCIS breast cancer. Also, Glimmer of Hope metastatic breast cancer center. A Glimmer of Hope is a Western Pennsylvania breast cancer foundation, raising awareness and setting protocol for young women. Our mission is to fund innovative programs, research, and technology for breast cancer patients. Through fundraising events and the generous support of many people, businesses, sports celebrities and sports organizations, we have raised over 6 million dollars for breast cancer projects. These specific projects and programs have been donated to the Allegheny Health Network, UPMC Magee-Womens Research Institute & Foundation, UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital, UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, and Allegheny General Hospital. The Glimmer of Hope Foundation has received tremendous support because of the transparency of the programs it supports, the satisfaction people receive from seeing their contributions at work, and the knowledge that the funds raised stay in Western, PA.
