As we get closer to Memorial Day, it’s a fitting time to recognize that May is Military Appreciation Month. Here is a message from our President Jody Steinberger-
As both a proud veteran and the President of Folds of Honor, Western PA, it is my distinct privilege to honor and thank our nation’s military veterans and their families during Military Appreciation Month.
Having worn the uniform myself, I understand that service to our country is more than a duty-it is a lifelong commitment rooted in sacrifice, integrity, and love of nation. Our veterans have answered the call in moments of uncertainty and challenge, standing steadfastly to protect the freedoms we hold dear. Their courage and dedication reflect the very best of our county’s spirit.
But behind every service member stands a family who serves in their own profound way. To the spouses, children, parents, and loved ones who provide the unwavering support through deployment, relocations, and the many challenges of military life- your resilience and sacrifice do not go unnoticed. You are an essential part of this shared service, and we honor you the deepest respect and gratitude.
Military service does not end when active duty concludes. Veterans continue to strengthen our communities every day-as leaders, public servants, volunteers, and neighbors-carrying forward a commitment to service that endures long after their time in uniform. It is this continued dedication that inspires our work at Folds of Honor and fuels our mission to support those who have served.
This month serves as an important reminder for all of us to reflect on the sacrifices made on our behalf and to actively show our appreciation. Whether through words, actions or support for veteran-focused initiatives, each gesture matters.
To my fellow veterans and your families, thank you for your sacrifice, your strength, and your unwavering commitment to this nation. It is an honor to stand among you, and I am forever grateful for all you have given-and continue to give.
Respectfully,
Jody Steinberger
