🚨 EXCLUSIVE OPPORTUNITY: CPR & First Aid Certification (Ages 10-18)! 🚨
Do you have a youth or teen looking to get certified in CPR and First Aid? We have an exciting opportunity, but you’ll have to act fast!
We are currently hosting our 2-day Babysitting Workshop, and Day 2 (tomorrow, Tuesday!) is completely focused on official CPR and First Aid certification. Our incredible instructor is traveling a long way to teach this vital life skill, and we want to make sure every single seat is filled.
We are officially opening up just 5 spots to the public for youth ages 10 to 18 for this specialized portion of the training!

🚨 POP TAB UPDATE & COOPERATIVE CONTEST! 🚨
Look at this amazing haul! 🥤✨ A huge shout-out to Aubri Davis for dropping off this massive collection of pop tabs on behalf of New Lima Schools! This incredible pile is the result of the whole club working together and collecting hard over the past year. What a fantastic team effort! 🙌
Did you know our Seminole County and Hughes County 4-H clubs collect pop tabs all year long? It’s a great way to recycle and support a wonderful cause, all while fueling a friendly county-wide competition!
Here is how you can help our local clubs:
🗺️ Where do they go? Every single tab we collect goes to the Ronald McDonald House Charities, helping support families with sick children.
🏆 The County Contest: Anyone from the public can donate! Drop your tabs off at our office anytime. Just let us know which 4-H club you want to credit them to. We track the totals, and the club that collects the most will be officially awarded at our annual banquet!
🍁 The District Showdown: Every October, we bundle up all the tabs from both counties and take them to the District event to compete against all the other counties. Let's make sure Seminole and Hughes counties bring the biggest pile!
📦 COMING SOON: Keep an eye out for our new official drop-box coming to the office shortly! You'll be able to swing by, drop your tabs, and note your club easily.

Screwworm larvae (maggots) burrow into a wound, feeding as they go like a screw driving into wood. The maggots cause extensive damage by tearing at the hosts’ tissue with sharp mouth hooks. The wound becomes deeper and larger as more maggots hatch and feed on living tissue.

U.S. CATTLE REPORT 🚨 USDA Confirms First New World Screwworm Case in the United States 🚨

USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) confirmed the detection of New World screwworm (NWS) in a 3-week-old calf in Zavala County, Texas, marking the first confirmed U.S. case. The larvae were found in the calf's umbilical area, and no additional cases have been detected to date. New World screwworm is a serious pest whose larvae feed on the living tissue of warm-blooded animals, posing risks to livestock, pets, wildlife, and, in rare cases, humans.

In response, USDA and Texas animal health officials have activated their NWS Response Playbook and are taking immediate action to contain and eradicate the pest. Measures include establishing a 20-kilometer quarantine zone around the detection site, increasing surveillance and trapping efforts, deploying additional sterile screwworm flies, implementing wildlife monitoring programs, and forming a unified incident command team. USDA emphasized that the U.S. food supply remains safe, as screwworm does not infest meat products and any affected animals would be identified during federal meat inspection. Officials also urged livestock producers and pet owners in the region to monitor animals closely for signs of infestation and report any suspected cases immediately.

Double the fun, double the Free Fair entries! Spend the morning binding a custom, recycled mixed-media journal, and spend the afternoon mastering basic machine sewing to stitch a drawstring bag! ✂️🎨
🐒 2. 4-H Safari Night Lock-In! (June 26-27 | Hughes County Expo):
Wild about 4-H! This action-packed overnight features 10 youth-led workshops, games, and an evening dance! Note: Spots are strictly limited to 40 participants, so act fast! 🦁🎶
🍼 3. Babysitting 101 (June 29-30 | Wewoka Office):
