Last year, we announced that The Center For Community Transformation was awarded $1,000,000 by the Federal Home Loan Bank of Topeka for home rehabilitation for qualifying homeowners in our area. This was made possible through a partnership with Security State Bank of Oklahoma. We're excited to share an update on the project!
Several homes in Wewoka have been completed so far with a main focus on full roof replacements and new window installations. The focus of one particular home project was on much-needed floor repairs. For years Lenora Thomason has not been able to walk on large portions of her kitchen and laundry room floors. With the help of our home rehabilitation project she was able to receive repairs that now allow her to have full access to those areas of her home!
“I am so thankful for this work that was done”, Lenora said. “I’ve been sending pictures to everyone!”
These repairs made a world of difference to Lenora. They not only provide structural stability but also enhance her overall quality of life and sense of security within her own home.
We're immensely grateful to the Federal Home Loan Bank of Topeka for creating an opportunity for us to have a positive impact on lives of the people in our community. We are also grateful for Security State Bank of Oklahoma for enabling this project to happen.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to make strides in transforming lives and strengthening our community, one project at a time.
