What if the joy you have been searching for cannot be found in your circumstances, your relationships, your health, or your success? In this week's message, we explored why true joy is so elusive when we look for it in the wrong places, and where it can actually be found.

The Greek word for joy, "chara," is rooted in the word for grace. Unlike happiness, which rises and falls with our circumstances, Spirit-filled joy is anchored in who God is, what he has done, and what he has promised. As Paul wrote in Philippians 4:4, rejoice in the Lord always. Not in your situation, but in the Lord.

Even in sorrow, even in suffering, the joy of the Lord is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10). Sorrowful yet always rejoicing. That is the life the Spirit makes possible. Come grow with us.
