A Common Thread UCLA

A Common Thread UCLA We are an undergraduate, community service club at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

A Common Thread is an organization that seeks to unite people of different backgrounds to serve one purpose: pay it forward. We aim to not only provide a creative space for craft enthusiasts but to promote the healing and comfort of those in need in the Los Angeles community and beyond (including, but not limited to: children and adults with chronic illness, homeless individuals, victims of domest

ic violence, senior citizens, animals, etc.) by creating and donating handmade goods to various hospitals, shelters, and other institutions. These handmade goods may be created by sewing, knitting, crocheting, weaving, clay crafting, and other creative methods. Although there are endless ways to give back to the community, they are all linked by a common thread: an act of kindness and compassion.

Hello Everybody! We had a slow start this quarter but we are definitely coming back strong. Our project for this quarter is donating to Crochet for Cancer. We will be crocheting/knitting beanies for cancer patients who are fighting their hardest by providing them with armor. Our meeting will be this Tuesday at Kerckhoff Patio at 6PM. Since it is midterms week, the meeting should not last more than 15-30 mins. We will be talking about our goal, progress, and handing materials out. Hello Bruins! Happy Week 4. Hope you all find yourself doing well this quarter. We just want to let y’all know that we are meeting this Tuesday (10/24) from 6-7pm at Kerckhoff Patio. If y’all are interested you guys can come over and hang out with us. No experience is necessary. Also, all tools are provided. All y’all need to do is bring your beautiful selves. Hello Bruins! Happy Week 9. Winter quarter is almost over. Yay for Spring Break (around the corner). Talking about a break, come take a break with ACT and get your knit on. As per usual, all experience is welcome and if you don't want to knit you can come to watch a movie or hang out with us. We will be meeting at the same place and time as always:
