Thanks to all our generous and loving supporters, students, and families, the MMA Foundation together with DP Martial Arts were able to provide gifts and fulfill some of the needs of many children and youth who are in desperate need of help. We and our partner YCS.org, the organization that takes care of thousands of disadvantaged, emotionally ill, orphaned, and abused children, thank you greatly. God bless and Happy Holidays! Calling all DPMA & Rise Up Students & Families!

Every holiday season and throughout the year, we and our own 501(c)3 The MMA Foundation (Mentoring Martial Arts) non-profit organization join together to provide gifts for many youth centers in NJ. One of our big partners whom we sponsor, is YCS (Youth Consultation Service) in Hackensack and Newark.

YCS is a social services center that provides shelter and education and all the needs of young children and teens who have been removed from their homes and families due to serious illness and trauma. Most of these children have no families, are orphaned or abandoned, abused and are emotionally ill or challenged in some way, and are considered high-risk. They are care-takers of these children, youth, and teens and need OUR help to raise them properly.

This year, we received a list for some of the children who need gifts. There are hundreds of children, but I agreed to take care of 30 for now. PLEASE SEE THEIR WISH LIST in the google drive spreadsheet here:

NOTE: You may notice many of their wishes do not seem to match their age at all. Please know that many of these kids have developmental disabilities or autism, and their requests reflect what truly brings them comfort and happiness. Your understanding and compassion in honoring their wishes mean more than you know.

When preparing your gifts, please place all items including any plastic gift cards in a gift bag labeled with your child’s name and program. You can wrap your gifts but a gift-bag is essential for us to organize and distribute easily and keep intact. I would suggest everyone to also write a hand-written card TOGETHER with your own children to express to these children how they are loved even by strangers and that they are special. (Write in big, legible writing PLEASE!)

PLEASE SIGN UP AND DROP OFF YOUR GIFTS AT THE SCHOOL ANYTIME THIS WEEK BUT BY LATEST THIS FRIDAY (DEC.19), AND DON'T FORGET TO LABEL AS THEY REQUESTED.

The MMA Foundation, all the youth in our programs, and I, would like to thank you all for such a successful golf outing on Oct.4th at our 3rd Annual Golf charity. Thank you Rob and Ron at Patriot Hills GC, the PGA Superstore, Golf Galaxy, Ready to Golf, Birdie Gear Golf, One Academy, Wongvipat family and all the generous donors and participants. We had 40 players and were able to raise close to $13,000 because of your generosity!

CONGRATS to Paul Kim (longest drive 296 yards!), Marie Domingo (women's longest drive 228 yds), Jon Lee (closest to pin), Mr.Jo (putting skills contest).

Next year we will do shotgun with 80 players! We will now be able to jumpstart and continue to rebuild our mission to help save and serve our underprivileged and at risk youth and women survivors of violent abuse, and build the next generation of good citizens and leaders of America.

Friends, Due to unforseen circumstances, the date of our MMA Foundation golf outing has been changed to Oct.4th (Sat) 12:00pm. Patriot Hills GC.

We apologize for any inconvenience and hope you will be able to make it. If you had already registered and unable to attend we will gladly provide a refund. Please let me know. More details on format and times will provided soon. We will make it as fun and challenging for all as possible.

March 15, 2025 - The MMA Foundation Movie & Martial Arts Day! THANKS to all our donors and supporters, we were able to rent the Twp. Of Washington Theatre and invite 30 beautiful children and teens in the care of .ycs.org from Edison, Newark, and Hackensack to movies, shake shack, and martial arts mentoring! Thank you to all our donors again for all your generosity and support, thank you Township Theatre, Shake Shake Paramus, and our DP Martial Arts staff for a great impactfull day. WHAT WE DO: Our mission at The M.M.A. Foundation is to use the unique power of the martial arts to engage students through training, empower them with life skills through mentoring, and enlist them to become mentors to others. Our primary focus is to serve at-risk and underprivileged youth, and women survivors of abuse. We foster what is intrinsic to martial arts: focus, balance, strength, self-control, respect, integrity, perseverance, and courage.
