The Garden State has taken some important steps to confront its legacy of chemical pollution, often moving ahead of federal standards to protect public health. But the nature and extensive use of PFAS, also known as “forever chemicals,” presents a major challenge.
Now, the issue is being compounded by shifting federal policy. The Trump administration is pulling back regulations on “forever chemicals” in our water and food.
