FREE Workshop for Essex County Youth!
Join us Saturday, June 20th for our next collaboration with the Depot Theatre: Behind the build! You get the chance to participate in a FREE hands on learning workshop covering set construction, production, sound design, and lighting!
This isn’t just about acting. It’s about teamwork, leadership, logistics, design, technology, communication, and creative problem-solving.
Whether you’re interested in theatre, event production, visual arts, technical trades, project management, or simply curious about how things get made, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to see a professional production from a new perspective.

Join us on July 8 to discover all the great research happening at the Cornell Willsboro Research Farm!

This event is free and open to the public. For more information, call 518-963-7492.use on Wednesday, July 8 from 1:30pm to 4:00pm. A tour of the research plots will leave the main office (48 Sayward Lane, Willsboro) at 2:00pm. Light refreshments will be provided.

Research topics featured at this year’s open house include an overview of 35 years of nutrient management and soil health advances, overwintering onions in high and low tunnels, winter field pea breeding nursery, hazelnut and chestnut plantings, biochar as a soil amendment, New York State crop production network’s field corn and alfalfa plots, high tunnel cover crops and tomato production, uncommon fruits for the North Country, durability of apple scab resistance genes, and the CCE Essex Master Gardener demonstration garden.

CCE Essex 4-H and the Depot Theatre are continuing their partnership with fantastic June workshops being offered! If you are in 4-H, or interested in joining, definitely consider signing up for our workshop series! Look out for upcoming dates:

June 12th- Depot Dialogue- CCE Essex 4-H will pay the cost of admission for 4-H participating and interested youth to watch Hadestown: Teen Edition at the Depot Theatre, and participants get the chance to stay after the show for a dialogue with the cast!

June 20th- Set Transition Workshop- 4-H participating and interested youth will get the chance to work hands-on with a theatre stage in transition! Learn about set construction, sound design, lighting, and more while the Depot Theatre transitions its stage from Hadestown: Teen Edition to Tick, Tick...Boom!

What a wonderful opportunity for our local 4-H participants to engage in a multi-club community service event!

Hey parents! We need some help picking rocks out of our new baseball field-to-be! There are 5 gallon buckets next to the light pole to fill up.

If you have an hour or two in the next week or so, we’d really appreciate any work you can do out at Noble Terrace.

Our 4-H Welding workshop wrapped up on Wednesday, and what a great time it was! Our participants got to work with Jeffords Steel’s Richard Leerkes at the Lewis DPW for five weeks in this hands on instructional welding series! These informative classes have given our participants an incredible benchmark for a useful new skill, and they had so much fun during the process! #4-h
