South Beach Christian Outreach

South Beach Christian Outreach South Beach Christian Outreach (SBCO) is a
Non-Denominational Outreach to the South Beach area.

About us...
South Beach Christian Outreach had its origin from the local ministerial association. The clergy would gather to pray for the people in Westport, Grayland and surrounding areas. They would encourage one another and also "pass the checkbook" taking care of folks from the community in need. From that beginning one pastor asked to take on the responsibility full time and SBCO was created.

Receiving donations from our local churches and individuals, as well as other organizations like The United Way... SBCO has been able to help folks out with Food and Propane Vouchers as well as numerous other needs for those who have found themselves in a temporary fix. We have a number of fundraisers throughout the year as well as monthly Spaghetti Dinner. our Staff and Board are all volunteer and our overhead costs are extremely low so practically all funds go right back to those in our community who are in need. Please check out our webpage for more information about South Beach Christian Outreach.

Each Tuesday our neighbors from Westport, Grayland, Ocosta, and Tokeland visit South Beach Christian Outreach.

South Beach Christian Outreach is more than a food pantry, clothing bank, and a hot meal. We are a community. We are a place of kindness and comfort. We are a place of hope. We provide assistance to over 150 families every week.

In this season where we celebrate Christ's birth, we hope you will embrace the spirit of giving by making a donation to South Beach Christian Outreach. Your donation will help us continue to support our neighbors, keep the lights on, and perform critical maintenance to our buildings.

Please go to our secure website, sbcoutreach.org and hit the donate button. You can make either a one time donation or opt for our budget friendly Monthly Gift Program.

If you prefer, you can also mail a donation to: South Beach Christian Outreach PO BOX 133, Westport, WA 98595

It's Giving Tuesday and South Beach Christian Outreach is asking for your help.

South Beach Christian Outreach provides a Food Pantry, Clothing Bank, (God's Closet), and the Soups On! hot meal program each Tuesday. Last year we were able to help over 1,400 of our Westport/South Beach friends and neighbors. We are the largest human service provider in the area.

This past year has been challenging for SBCO. Client counts have increased, Coastal Harvest, our primary food supplier, has reduced its contributions due to budget cuts. The recent Government shutdown and suspension in SNAP/Food Stamp benefits forced us to dip into our reserves to meet the increased need.

Despite these challenges South Beach Christian Outreach has been able to meet its mission, Neighbors Helping Neighbors to the Glory of God.

In order to continue to fulfil our mission, South Beach Christian Outreach needs your financial assistance. We recognize times are challenging so we've created our Monthly Gift program. By committing to a donation of $10, $15, or $20 a month you'll be able to help us continue to serve our neighbors without straining your budget. Your gift will be leveraged to purchase food wholesale and also perform critical maintenance on our building. Our goal is to have 100 individuals donate to our Monthly Gift program.

We've made it easy for you to help. Go to our website, sbcoutreach.org , hit the "Donate" button, then hit the "Monthly Gift" button, pick an amount you wish to contribute and enter your credit or debit card info onto our secure website. If you would prefer you can also make a one time donation.

Thank you and God Bless!

South Beach Christian Outreach Needs Your Help!

Each Tuesday South Beach Christian Outreach helps our friends and neighbors. We provide a food pantry, clothing bank (God's Closet), and hot meal program. SBCO averages 150 guests each week and last year helped over 1,400 South Beach/Westport residents. SBCO is the largest Human Services provider for the South Beach/Westport community.

Much has been said lately on the news about cutbacks to the SNAP/Food Stamp program due to the Government shutdown. Here are some quick facts about the SNAP/Food Stamp program: The majority of recipients work, needing a hand up to help feed their families. The remainder are elderly and disabled individuals whose Social Security and Disability checks don't provide enough funds to cover their grocery bills. Illegal immigrants are ineligible to receive benefits.

Here is the latest on the status of the SNAP/ Food Stamp program:
Two Federal Courts have ruled that emergency contingency funds must be released. The administration has agreed to release the funds but has said that SNAP/Food Stamp funding will only be at 50% of normal levels. There will be a 2 week delay before funds are distributed.

What this means for SBCO: With a 2 week delay in benefit distribution and 50% reduction in funding many families and individuals will not be able to meet their basic needs. Families, the elderly, the disabled, and children are going to go hungry. That means SBCO needs to step up and help out neighbors. Making the situation more critical, SBCO's supply drop from our provider, Coastal Harvest, has been reduced. We will do everything we can to provide something.

How you can help:

While donations of food and clothing are appreciated, (we accept donations between 11AM and 1PM), the best way to help is to make a financial contribution. Why is a financial contribution so important? Through our partners we are able to leverage financial contributions to purchase goods wholesale and target our purchases to meet the exact needs of our guests.

We've made it easy for you to help. By going to our website, www.sbcoutreach.org and hitting the donate button, you can make an immediate difference in ensuring we are able to help our South Beach/Westport friends and neighbors in this time of crisis. Please help! Together we can make sure no one in our community goes hungry.

If you or anyone you know is in need of help, please remember that we are open from 12PM to 2PM every Tuesday at 617 S Forrest, (The old church by the Chateau)
