WEfish Celebrating family, community, and legacy in the commercial fishing industry. WEfish is a collective effort to serve the fishing community on a social level.

WEfish started in the fall of 2013, when group of individuals began meeting to discuss their interest in supporting the local commercial fishing community in the Westport, WA area. What began as an effort to form a traditional fishermen’s wives association in Westport, quickly transformed into an effort to support fishing families & community through promotion, education, outreach, and service. Th

e name “WEfish” is designed to represent all associated with the fishing industry- families, businesses, and fishermen. Our goal is to promote the economic value of this massive industry of which we hear so little, and to refresh and regain the sense of community pride that comes from generations of hard work and heritage. WEfish is a fishery-wide, non-political group. Both men & women are welcome. Whether interested in reviving a lost-fishermen’s fund, finding opportunities to educate people on the value of commercial fishing, representing commercial fishing at local community events, or simply putting a family face on commercial fishing, WE fish is a great avenue to for those seeking to get involved in supporting the commercial fishing industry.

The Blessing of the Fleet and Remembrance is coming up on Sunday at 1:00 pm. Live broadcast on KDUX 104.7 page- video and audio. Join us in person at the memorial down at Float 20 (The road will close before 1 so arrive a little early if you want to park at Float 20). For those out of the area that want to listen, it will be broadcast through the 104.7 KDUX page starting at 12:56.
If you'd like to participate in the boat parade, please plan on exiting the harbor by 1:15pm and motor out towards the viewing platform. You are welcome to wait until USCG drops the wreath otherwise make a turn around and motor back to dock. All boats are welcome! If you aren't fishing on Sunday, May 24th we would love to have you join the parade of boats. You can listen in to the live broadcast while out there.

Just heard from a local boat that a crew member was saved this week after falling overboard wearing his lifejacket from our giveaway event. It makes it all worth it!!!We hope all fishermen continue to wear their jackets!!

Still a few weeks until Scholarship applications are due.

Attention qualifying seniors: WEfish scholarship applications are now available in the Ocosta High School Counselor office. Scholarship applications due 5/29/2026.
There are two $1000 scholarships available this year. Students who work in the fishing industry or whose immediate family work in the fishing industry may apply.

THANK YOU so much for coming out to the Westport Crab and Clam Derby yesterday! We had so many incredible people that participated and a good time was had by all! Congratulations to our winners too! It was fun to give out all the door prizes as well. We couldn't ask for better weather. Did you catch any crab? Post your pictures and success below in the comment section!
