At Horizons, a way we measure our students' academic progress is with Renaissance Learning's STAR Assessment, which provides teachers with personalized learning data for each student.
We are incredibly proud of our students, their determination, and their commitment to growth β and the champions inside and outside of the classroom who support their learning.
During Horizonsβ 6-week summer program, students make more progress than they typically would during a full school year β and avoid the βsummer slideβ that most children experience. (https://shorturl.at/g8bSN)
π Growth Across Subjects: On average, students gain nearly 9 weeks in Early Literacy (K-2), over 7 weeks in Reading (grades 3β8), and nearly 8 weeks in Math.
πͺ Biggest Gains for Struggling Students: Students who start out below grade level see the greatest progress. For example, in Early Literacy, they gain an average of 12.5 weeks. This is especially important at a time when national reports show students who are behind are falling even further behind (https://shorturl.at/3xVFz).
