A Message from Your Grand Knight
Randy Cusack
Dear Brother Knights, Ladies and Families, Vivat Jesus!
Matthew 28:1-6 - After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men. The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.
Brother Knights,
As we enter the month of May, our thoughts naturally turn to the great joy of the Resurrection. The Resurrection reminds us that hope, renewal, and victory over darkness are at the very heart of our faith. It is the moment that defines who we are as Catholics and calls each of us to live as witnesses to Christ in our daily lives.
For us as Knights, the message of the Resurrection is also a reminder of our mission. Just as Christ gave of Himself completely for others, we too are called to serve. Recently, a group of men from our council again went out into the community to celebrate the Resurrection with over 20 of our senior members of our parish. This year we welcomed youth from The Well to join and celebrate the stories and service of our elderly. We hope that the Easter Basket Initiative continues to flourish in coming years! Thank you to Tavern 1836, The Little Flower Market and Paul and Beth Smith for their time, talent and treasure with this initiative.
Our parish relies on the generosity, commitment, and leadership of its members, and the Knights of Columbus play a vital role in that mission. Whether it is volunteering at parish events, supporting charitable initiatives, helping those in need, or simply showing up when help is required, each act of service strengthens our parish family and reflects Christ’s love in action. Please look below for ways to celebrate our community and the Resurrection
in the coming weeks.
Just a reminder on ways you can become active in the coming month and a half:
1. Join our reciting of the rosary prior to our monthly meetings (first Tuesday of each month). May will be your last opportunity until after summer break.
2. Visit a member of the senior community within our parish. The Easter Basket Initiative reminded us of how rewarding and impactful a simple visit with our elderly can be.
3. Discern being an officer for the 2026 Fraternal Year. If interested, please reach out to any officer for more information.
4. Find one young man in the community to recruit to our council. Make a personal appeal to them on the benefits of being a Knight and all that our council has to offer to our parish community.
In Christ,
Randy Cusack, Grand Knight
