A very special THANK YOU to James, Jack, Maxwell and Major for their hard work helping with the Chelsea Farmers Market on May 16th! 💚🌿
James originally contacted City Hall himself to coordinate the project as part of a Mountain Lion Service Project for his Trail Life Troop, and I have to say — I was so impressed with how professional and respectful he was during the entire process. All four boys worked incredibly hard helping with setup, cleanup, organizing, and assisting vendors throughout the event.
I especially loved getting to introduce them to Shelby County Commissioner Robbie Hayes and his lovely wife while the boys were hard at work cleaning and organizing at the end of the market. They represented themselves, their families, and our community so well.
These young men are a true testament to the heart of our sweet Chelsea community — see a need and fill a need. ☀️
As we continue hosting events throughout the year including the Chelsea Farmers Market, Food Truck Fridays, car shows, ChelseaFest, parades, community cleanup days, tree lighting ceremonies, and more, please remember that we are always happy to coordinate community service opportunities for students, scout groups, church groups, and organizations.
We often help coordinate participation, provide supplies when needed, and afterward participants receive a signed letter from Mayor Sumners recognizing and thanking them for their service hours.
We are so proud of these boys and thankful for their willingness to serve our community! 👏
